Faux Stone Panels and Art
Art is a reflection of human nature. It shows us the ideas and emotions of the artist or designer which also reflects the characteristics of their generation. Each color and each presentation is aimed at evoking an emotional response. Art expresses the unique perceptions of the artist. The goal and the process of artistic design is all about using creative methods to create beautiful or dark styles that the artist wants to represent in their work.
Emotional responses are controlled by the method and medium the artist chooses to use. This is why choosing new and exciting mediums is very important when it comes to making a great impression with a fresh perspective.
Designers have to understand how to manipulate emotion and function to create an effective style. Good designers can recreate the different themes or styles that the clients require. Great designers know how to create their own brand by using new and effective ways of making each project speak volumes.
New Medium Helps Designers make a winning Impression
A new medium for designers has been popping up in different trade shows and exhibitions across the world. This medium is known as the imitation stone or brick panels which have become increasingly popular due to the advances in technology and realistic look they portray. Designers have fallen in love with this product. The convenience of the panels have also attracted many homeowners to the market because it is geared for the do it yourself-er. They are not only realistic but easy to install so the designers save money and time because they don’t have to worry about dealing with masons.
Using a new method to build unique styles helps the designer make a winning impression among their colleagues and clients. Faux stone and brick panels do away with all the disadvantages of using the traditional elements of construction. Therefore, the next generation of designers has already embraced this product because of the flexibility it offers them.
Choosing faux stone panels to remodel the home is a great idea. Along the way you will find that it is the fastest and easiest part of any renovation process. While setting up the project area nine times out of ten there will be inside and outside corners. Stone panels were designed for convenience and flexibility so corners do not pose a problem because there are several methods to produce professional and realistic stone corners.
Creating a flowing pattern around the corners can be done with three different methods. The first method is by using the interlocking corners. These corners come with interlocking teeth that can be joined to any other panel of the same color and texture.
The First Method
The interlocking corners are three feet high and provide a realistic outside corner piece to match your project. They can easily be cut and butted up to another corner if the need arises. They can easily be stacked on top of one another in order to reach the required height. The interlocking corners represent the fastest way to build your corners so they look great.
The Second Method
The second method consists of using the inside and outside corners. They are beautiful four foot high brackets made in a ninety degree angle that allows the other panels to butt up directly to the other panels to guarantee a professional finish.
Although, they may be the same color scheme they are not the same pattern as the interlocking corners. They come in a stacked stone design which creates a nice finish for the corner enabling customers to use inside and outside corners. The incorrect way to build corners is represented in the second picture.
The Third Method
The third method is the most time consuming and detailed. You must create a mitered corner by cutting a panel in half. Cut the panels with a 45 degree angle using a miter saw or table saw set on a 45 degree angle. After adhering the panel on the corner simply smooth over the edges. Then use textured caulk to seal in the edge. After using the textured caulk grab the touch up kit with the same color scheme and paint over the corner to match it with the pattern you are using. This process requires a lot more work and time which is why we always recommend the other two options first.
Using the recommended method always gives the best result and the quickest completion time. The goal of this product is to reduce the time spent on any project. Visualize your project finished and completed within a couple of hours instead of days.Editor
The biggest factors in creating realistic faux stone and brick panels is the paint and mold used in the fabrication process. The paint and the texture work hand in hand to create a realistic stone look that blows people away when they realize it is not real stone.
When people hear the words imitation or fake stone they expect a tacky rendition of natural stone. That impression comes from low caliber products like the panels offered by Lowes and Home Depot. The difference is truly apparent when you put high quality panels next to the ones mass produced by the big box stores. Check out our panels up close by clicking here.
The strictest attention to detail is what makes our approach the best. For example, we carefully create a master panel which is then used as a template for the rubber mold. The mold is very expensive but we replace it often because it slowly deteriorates when panels are made.Replacing it often ensures the highest quality result making our products look and feel realistic. Unfortunately, many companies avoid replacing the mold often to save money which results in a fake representation.
The different paints being used have to be a high quality paint which is more expensive, therefore most companies avoid using them in order to save money. The paint used for our panels represent the highest quality in the industry partly because of the unique methods used to paint the panels. Our panels have six layers of high quality acrylic paints designed for outdoor use. It helps make the panels UV resistant which prevents the colors from bleaching.
Observe the difference in quality when looking at this fence. The grout lines are the same color and they don’t contrast the bigger stone pieces therefore it lost its realistic touch. The best panels are made with many layers of paint that also have a nice wash which can help bring out the texture even more. In addition, good imitation stone panels have grout colored lines that are painted in a way that contrast the larger stones creating a better representation of stone. Knowledge is power and knowing the difference between a quality product and a fast misrepresentation is key in getting a great realistic look.

“Hey honey when did you buy that great looking bar and grill set up outside that wasn’t there yesterday?”
“I didn’t buy I made it all by myself.”
This project was the husband’s way of saying we will spend more time together and have fun eating together. The husband in this case was more than happy to show off his handyman skills and the wife was happy to have a beautiful functional piece of furniture that matches the tones and colors she used to design the patio. All around this project helped make a happy couple with a new simple and fun addition to their backyard.
What was the husband’s secret trick? He used imitation stone panels and corners in order to fabricate the bar and grill. These panels can be used around a heat six as long as it is five to six inches away from the actual heat source. Essentially, what the husband did in this case was use a frame of wood and bars in order to construct a small frame to accommodate the grill.
Since the faux stone panels are easy to cut and glue or screw onto any flat surface the husband was able to finish this project before his wife got home from doing her hair.
The Perfect Do It Yourself Project
In this case the husband used plywood and some 2x4 pieces of wood in order to create the skeleton for the bar and grill. After that he simply glued on the panels and screwed them in so they were secured onto the brackets. Then he used a small touch up kit and was done. The grill was strategically placed so the heat from the grill would not affect the panels. People even use faux stone panels around fireplaces. This picture shows the high quality look you can get by adding a few panels around your house. Check out the link to view more great examples of stone ve

Over the years fireplaces have been an iconic symbol for each generation. Although, they have changed over the years and each time they always reflect the architectural philosophy of that generation. Everybody who has had a fireplace in their home remembers the cozy feeling it inspired. It brings a warmth to the home besides the heat the fire brings. Everyone sits around the fireplace talks and laughs and shares Christmas presents or plays with their children. The fireplaces now have changed considerably with different technology.
New technology has changed the look and feel of fireplaces by making them safer and cleaner. With a whole new variety of new style of fireplaces a new contemporary design comes into play. Now many designers and homeowners are changing their fireplace by using faux stone products.
Designers are taking advantage of the benefits offered by faux stone products. The modern fireplace has been revolutionized. The trend is redefining the way the American fireplace looks by creating the utilitarian look with a contemporary edge. Faux stone products can easily go around the fireplace and even be used to create a mantle.
The versatility of this product is best explained when you examine the various methods it can be applied. In the fireplace setting it can wrap around the corners and go right up to the ceiling with any problem. But the one of the greatest things about this product is you can add fixtures such as lights through the panels. With stone you must make a sacrifice because you can’t drill straight through stone and put lamps or mirrors on it. With the faux stone panels people can easily drill through and anchor whatever they want into the panels.
Fireplaces are not complete without some form of mantle. Where else would everybody hang the stockings and put up albums of their family. The mantle plays a large role in the room due to the albums and ornaments that adorn it. When people pass by the mantle usually a long parade of smiles and hugs dot the pictures above the fireplace. This was very special to me as a child because every Christmas we always added our new albums to the mantle highlighting the fun we had that year. These important pieces of our lives should be revered. Remodeling the traditional fireplace with a modern touch is made easy when using faux stone because you can take that boring blank space around the fireplace and create a masterpiece of design in under a day.
The modern fireplace is still evolving. Many homeowners have adopted the faux stone approach because it is a cheaper way to remodel the fireplace. Most people have been purchasing the newer versions of fireplace which complements the design theory of the faux stone method because after the easy installation most people love the great look it creates. Save time and money while making your house into a cozy home. Escape from the trouble of the world and warm up by your new fireplace enjoy the great textures and colors brought on by the faux stone.Editor
Siding can make or break a house. When people are shopping for houses they know that siding is an important part of the house. The type of siding used can make a great deal of difference when renovating a house. It is true that not all projects are equal and some require a different less traditional approach in order to get the job done right. Siding makes a big impression and is an influential part of the home which helps define its character and ambiance. The siding also helps insulate the home therefore plays an important architectural role.
People always wonder how they could cover their siding or foundation without a hassle. It is a big project if you use the wrong materials it could take forever. The best bet is to find a product and design that enables you to get the product installed quickly with the least amount of skilled labor required. For the best application results it is important to take correct measurements in order to avoid any problems and to ensure you get the right amount of materials.
Now the hard part is choosing which method to use for fixing up the siding or foundation of your house. There is a very short list of options. Some people go with plastic or wood boards or a trellis under their mobile home for example. All of these are fine but the best option is the one that provides you with a quality look and a durable long lasting product. Imitation stone or brick panels are an easy and quick way to fix the siding or foundation areas for your home because it provides an affordable yet high quality result for your project.
Even the siding of sheds can be a great space for improvement. By the time people fix up their backyard, usually the old shed stands as the last eyesore to deal with. Naturally nobody wants to get rid of the only place they can store all the extra stuff that they cannot fit in the house. So instead of buying a new shed and destroying the old one simply add a couple of veneer stone or brick panels. This enables you to match it against the surroundings wrapping up the beautiful backyard with no eyesore in sight. Within a day you have created a new shed with great attributes just by changing the siding.
The siding and foundation areas are some of the most visible areas that show the true age of the house. The best way to avoid showing the houses true age is by covering and remodeling around the areas that have the most gaps like the skirting or foundation even mobile home communities can use this product to cover up the bottom of their home. There is no end to the advantages and possibilities of using this product for that project.
Broken Natural Stone Vs. Faux Stone Alternative
Stone is not always the best looking architectural material available. As we can see above when stone is applied there can be large pieces that may fall off due to incorrect mortar setting or rapid placement in order to finish the project faster. Nine times out of ten construction is done in a last minute haste and accidents like this can happen all the time. I also want to draw your attention about three rows under the large gap and directly next to the gap. Look at the mislaid stone with grout lines that are all uneven. Grout lines are never exact when natural stone is laid.
Check out the beige stone that looks crooked. All these mistakes were found on various columns throughout the building. There are many unwanted problems associated with using real stone because of its application method. Problems like this can be dangerous because the stone pieces were incorrectly placed. The vibrations in the column from cars being driven in the garage above had shaken the stone piece loose. These kind of problems are common on any construction site which is why the alternatives are extremely attractive for builders and consumers. What if someone had been walking by and the stone fell on them a huge lawsuit would most definitely be the consequence. Most likely a parked car would have suffered but thankfully no harm was done but it highlights the problem of using these kind of materials. These problems are avoided when we apply the use of faux stone column wraps. The lifelong guarantee is supported by a manufacturer warranty. Therefore contractors and designers that are looking to save time and money on their projects have started taking advantage of the benefits of using faux stone.
What is truly important to remember is the high cost of labor for installation and repair. To get anybody out there people out there to finish a project like that is expensive. Now in order to fix this the owner has to call the contractor to get the mason to come and fix it. The bottom line is that people are realizing real stone has many set backs unlike faux stone which is easy and cheap in comparison. I urge our readers to find natural stone and take pictures and observe the grout lines and the crooked stone. Using this alternative can not only save you money but give you a professional look at the same time. Polyurethane imitation stone products are waterproof and UV proof. Even stone cracks over time usually because water and ice can play a large role in the strength of the stone. So when considering what to use in your next project look at the bigger picture and do the research then make your decision so you don't make the mistake of getting stuck with a bad result on your project.
Redesigning Your Home Or Business Just Got Easy
Redefine your life and work by redesigning your home or workplace. Designers love to put their own style into every project they take care of because it gives them a chance to explore the boundaries of our world. Interior designers see it all the time, it is the look people get when they walk into a room and they are vivified by what they are enjoying with their eyes. Our eyes represent the window to our soul and designers’ goals are to attract that soul to the beauty or unique elements of their design. After enjoying countless art shows and furniture exhibitions a person comes to the conclusion that art and function go hand in hand. Combining art and function flawlessly is the key to making a happy customer. Designers from all over the spectrum have realized that a direct line to their customer’s ears is important but most important is being able to cater to your clients desires.
When deciding on a medium and mode with your clients it is essential to never use the words, “I can’t”. That phrase signifies a failure on the part of the designer for not being creative enough to give the client what they want therefore they may lose a client simply because they couldn't give them what they wanted. Realistically, there are limitations that just can’t be overcome but, for all of the other issues there is always a way to resolve them in order to make everyone happy. In the planning stage of a project it is important to make sure that you are using the correct medium for your design.
Making people happy does not just mean giving somebody what they want but, also educating them on what is right for their project. Faux stone or brick bypasses a lot of these problems. For example, a client living in a penthouse who wants to build a fireplace may want to have a limestone or stone mantle and face for the fireplace. At this point the designer could step in with a complement on the idea while redirecting them back to reality.
In reality you would need a carpenter and a mason in their penthouse all day for about two or three days if everything goes as planned. They would have to cover the floor and hope that none of the workers destroy the priceless white marble floors. Then the amount of dust brought on from the construction would require the workers to put a plastic sheet around doors and vents to prevent the massive amounts of dust from flying around the house making a constant mess. Then you have the loud noise brought on by the workers which not only prevents the client from enjoying their penthouse but it bothers the neighbors as well. Here is the good part, clients and designers can avoid all of this with a simple application of the cure all remodeling tool which is faux stone or brick, even architectural elements can complement any project since the material is so versatile.
So for the next big project when the client asks for something that might seem impossible do not fret. Applying imitation stone or brick products do not look tacky or unprofessional when done right. Obviously, there are different grades of production and some companies may not produce the highest quality product as other companies but, do not let the bad apples ruin the batch because this is a great asset for designers in different fields. Polyurethane products come in hundreds of different forms and can be applied in many ways since it is waterproof and UV proof. This enables designers to cover up blank areas and make the project look great in a fraction of the time. Polyurethane once hardened is very durable and lightweight which makes it easy to handle which makes most designers happy to hear since they understand it is not labor intensive. Design for life, love, and luxury and enjoy your next project.Editor

If you are having the project supervised by the contractor add about 12% to the total cost for their time. As you can see there many factors that come into play when using real stone and on top it you may not get the great uniform look you wanted.
With all the labor costs involved it is important to remember because you avoid the cost by doing the project yourself. Obviously, most people do not have masonry or advanced carpentry skills therefore making most projects impossible to do by themselves. The faux stone and brick products provide a different avenue for them by saving time and money. Plus it enables anybody to remodel their home.
