Installing Faux Stone Panels Made Easy

Installing Faux Stone

Faux Stone is easy and fun to work with, but there are a couple of tools and tips that will make the project easier. The first thing to remember is to have all the tools you will need. Below you will find a list of the simple tools that will help you finish your project.

• Measuring tape and pencil
• Hand saw (a table saw, miter saw or jigsaw can be used if available.)
• Nails or screws (exterior grade if used outdoor and masonry screws for brick, concrete, etc.)
• Nail set
• Hammer (or screwdriver/drill if using screws)
• Level
• Framing square
• Chalk line
• Construction adhesive, E.G: Liquid Nails, PL, etc.
• Safety Glasses

After gathering all your tools take your time to temporarily place the panels around the area which you plan to cover. This will give you a good idea of which ones you have to cut. Preparation is essential to ensuring short project time as well as a professional look.

The second tip to remember is to start with the corners first. If you are using our corners temporarily place them in using nails and no adhesive. This will give you a picture of what the room will look like. Make sure that everything is perpendicular to the floor. Remember to avoid using too much adhesive for the corners.

Last but not least is the third recommendation. Place the panels from left to right. This is the correct way to place them. It isn’t necessary to cut the panels before you place them. You will cut them as you go along which guarantees you make the right cut to the right panels. If you cut the panels before actually putting them in place then the order of the panels can be messed up and you won’t get a professional look. As you see below they are quite light and easy to place.
